The Geese and the Cranes. Illustration from Baby's Own Aesop drawn by Walter Crane. A flock of geese were joined by a flock of Cranes in a field of wheat. All ate well until the farmer arrived. The cranes flew away but the overfed geese could not rise and were caught by the farmer. The moral is do not join in enterprises where the risks are not equal. |
